Deze modellen zijn zeer geschikt voor efficiënte, economische verwerking van cirkelvormige werkstukken via oppervlakte- en stapslijpbewerkingen. Er is geen tijdverlies door vertraging, versnelling en omkering zoals bij conventioneel heen en weer slijpen. De slijpschijf blijft in contact met het werkstuk gedurende het slijpproces. Enkele werkstukken kunnen centraal op de tafel worden geplaatst, terwijl meerdere werkstukken concentrisch kunnen worden geplaatst om het gebruik van de tafelruimte te optimaliseren.
